Daily Democrats come up to me with horror stories about Fat Bill. Some of the tales are political and others personal about the Governor. As a life-long Democrat the political tales anger me and the personal ones sicken me.
The Large Lard is getting such a reputation that soon his chances for President will go from slim to none. That may be the only time I use the word slim in referring to Governor Doughnut.
Richardson comes from the “Buffalo wing” of the Democratic Party. His politics and personal morality makes even Bill Clinton look like an alter boy. I hate the way he sold-out the Democratic National Convention and threw the election for his CIA buddies. El Puerco couldn’t even carry New Mexico. How can one Governor be so Fat and Lame at time?
Governor Tons-of-Fun is too short and fat to be even Vice President. And the Hispanic vote will be of no consequence in the next presidential election. In New Mexico the ship of State has a portly Captain name Richardson who only know how to make turn to the right …so the ship keeps going in circles.

"Miguel Vigil" would you deny me my right of free speech? And if you don't like my poetry, as you call it, it is probably because it is far too truthful for you to handle. Quite frankly; that is not my problem, so deal with it or skip it and remain in the dark closet which seems to be your reality.
Everyone is on to the tiny bitter crowd of losers that inaccurately slam Richardson with inuendo, lies, and political slander.
I would point to Governor Richardson's solid, positive, and very real accomplishments. First I would reiterate what R. Vigil posts below and then I would add Governor Richardson's proven skills as a Diplomat. Our Nation sorely needs his highly regarded expertise at this time.
I would also document here, the incredible constituent services performed (which I personally witnessed) while he honourably served Northern New Mexico, as Congressman, for over a decade.
In as far as predicting his future political accomplishments, I believe Richardson would bring the majority of Hispanics nationwide into the Democratic Party. And for the Republicans, he will certainly bring them in as they slowly begin to realize what a problematic agenda they have endorsed.
Of course Governor Richardson would not be attacked as he is, if he were not a forminable, accomplished contender

The only time Lardo Richardson is not bellying-up to the publicity table is when it’s about doing some work. He was a no-show when the New Mexican tried to do something about the achievement gap in education. [ ] (He) acts like the CIA is paying his salary rather than the People of New Mexico. Even the Koreans when they came to New Mexico said they were here for the food. Governor Gordo is fat with power. It has swollen his head; put a bulge on his middle of the road politics.
I think I should be able to call him Governor Grasoso because the way he greases the wheels of Government. Certainly Governor Crisco. And why the Web Ed. cut my Korean name for the State's chief officer and cook is beyound me.
I am not in favor of "Ahbold for Prez" but I would be in favor of our Fat Bill moving to California and running for Governor there

The purpose of the discussion on the Democracy for New Mexico website was not to create a personal attack on the Governor-but to try to clarify wth his office how his PAC dovetails with the Democratic Party of New Mexico-at a time when all of the energy of the democrats should be to defeat the republicans in 2006-we need to be working together.

That Richardson is the fattest Governor is the Country or that the CIA paid him off to throw the last election?
Bill Tubby-Guv is in for an eternity of "weight jokes" or worse. If I were him I would be worried that he would be facing a primary battle not on the issues but on his character, his arrogance, his racism and his weight.
In cyberspace you can't prove that Richardson ever mentioned Abu Ghriab no less that he condemn it. You can prove that he pandered to the military but there is no proof that the Big Large rico Richardson ever opposed the war. It's just like with Lieberman, if you're a Democrat you better contribute to Fat Bill's campaign while he still call himself a Democrat.

Oh man Web Ed, now you are really being unfair. JC does contribute. He gives reasons why he does not like the guv at the same time as calling him fat. We all get to call our politicians names. I sometimes shut Maher off when he and some of his Hollywood sell-out guests do their obligatory "support the troops" comments. If that cracker from Alabama wants some "treason" chew on this f***er.
The entire U.S. military is made made up of pigs, murderers, retards, perverts, psychos, morons, cowards, closet queers, and lawless sexual deviants.
Every rotten individual who served in the military should be rejected, shunned, boycotted, ridiculed, harassed, resisted and refused. All retired military should be force to reside in Alabama with all those defective white inbred that live.
The main thing people should do is teach the children of this country that to "serve" in the military is a character flaw and leads to a dead end in life. The kids must learn that to put on a military uniform is the equivalent of joining a satanic cult, a morally bankrupt and God denying act

Bill Maher also said, "I'm for the legilazation of marajuana. That's why i smoke a ton of it". I would have thought that comment would draw more attention than the "low-lying fruit" comment.
This is why Bill Maher is on HBO. You have to pay to watch it and they arn't governed by the FCC. Does congressman Bachus pay to watch HBO? Or did one of his cronies just tell him about it...

I've read the comments and respect all for their thoughts...although some such as the comments made by John Couentry are a little hard to swallow...I grew up an Air Force Brat, my father was the most honerable, decent man I have every known...he retired from the Air Force at 27 years and settled down in his home town of Santa Fe to be robbed by illegal aliens and left for dead..her suffered with servere bain damage for another 25 years until he died of it...so to call enlisted men/wormen low lying fruit or as John Coventry discribes as the worst of society...I guess it depends on what tree your picking from! I am not affended by Mr. Maher's comments because I am intellegent enough to not take blanket statements to heart...most people realize it's an exaggeration to make a point...Of course, not all military is bad, but it's just as stupid to suggest that all individuals in the military are great! EACH person desearves the benefit of the doubt unless proven otherwise....Personaly I never miss Bill's show...it's hilarious! I know that when he made the 'low lying fruit' comment, that he was not intending to personally insult my father..that's been Bush's job!!

Kaaren, everyone here has defended Bill's right to be an idiot, but no one seems to give the same right to the Congressman. I guess freedom of speech only depends on which side you're on. I personally find both Bachus and Maher's comments offensive. HBO has the right to do something about Maher and the people of his district have the right to do something about Bachus. Now if we could only find someone willing to do something about Coventry. And in case you haven't noticed, mu guess is about 5% of the House would fail a basic IQ test.

Julia Goldberg is the editor of a longtime liberal weekly rag here in Santa Fe. John Huddy was a reporter covering City Hall for the Albuquerque Journal, the largest and most right wing paper in the State. Stephen Pfeffer was the most conservative of our City Councilors. I end up writing more about all of them but this post concerns the controversy about Councilor Pfeffer being allegedly misquoted by Huddy about his support Pfeffer's support of the vigilante's patrolling the border between New Mexico and Mexico.

Editor Goldberg, who also has a blog of her own and is into "new age" journalism, did an editorial somewhat supporting Huddy who was going to be canned by his paper. I already had run-ins with all three them and felt like 'a pox on all their houses.' I had already begun to speculate on to whom and what higher authority did the characters in Fat Bill and Me owe their allegiance to.

I was still using my stage name of John Coventry; Writing this blog under Danny Cabeza de Calabazo (Squash-head); and trying at the same time to reclain my given name of Donado (Danny) Coviello.

The Media: Rule two...rule one doesn't apply.

Both politicians and reporters each try to make the story be about themselves. That’s why I do love each and every one of them. They both put themselves out there.

I walked up Don Gaspar toward the Plaza. From behind, attempting to startle, Stephen grabs me. “Hey Coventry Coviello, whata ya doin’."
“Hey.” I say, not reacting with any other muscle other than my mouth.
“You know I’ve been reading your blog and you know you should really stick to the truth. I mean that shit about the Mayor in a circle-jerkoff and the Governor having a homosexual relationship with the Korean Ambassador is bullshit. You’re only hurting yourself. You’re gonna lose credibility.”

As he turns to walk away, I say, “I said he likes to ‘politically’ suck Korean dick. Figure of speech…allegory.” But Stephen is already walking on, waving his hands in what-everrr manner. He stops and turns to me saying, “If you really want to get Richardson…. He gave it … Washington … She was…Gallager told….”

In real life this guy was telling me a terrible story that I didn’t give a fuck about. Whether it was true or false. Thank God in my head his voice drifted in and out. And when I told my family about the encounter they screamed with laughter. They especially roared at the part about me losing credibility.

I was on my way to Roque’s carnitas stand on the plaza and I was not going to let bummer Stephen hang me up.

“Where you beennn? “ Roque asked. I always thought it was some kind of metaphysical question since it was Roque who lived in Mexico half the year. We were partners in the early days of plaza vending. I called my political alliance with Rocky, as some old timers called him, the ‘Vato Coalition.’
“Get a haircut. What are people going to think?” Roque continued to rag on me, as a tour bus pulled up to the stoplight next to the stand.

Rather than answer my buddy I turned to the tour bus filled with Iowans and in my best carnie voice, I declared, “Do you realize that we have the fattest Governor in the contiguous forty-eight States. We call him Governor Doughnut.”

Now the captive audience of sardined tourists are smiling and the driver, over the intercom, interrupts my schtick with,“Pay no attention to him. We have a great Governor.”

I think…this is too easy. It’s like the classic ‘Don’t think of an elephant.’

Roque is a Master of Media Manipulation. One time while we were canvassing for someone’s political campaign together he said, “Mira, there’s the photographer from the paper, when I come back pull off my boots.” He went to his car and got a pair of comfortable shoes; came back and sat on the curb. I turned and started to pull off Roque’s boot, cowboy style, between my legs. Sure enough that fuckin’ photographer came over and started snapping. The next day Roque’s picture was on the front page of the Sunday paper with the cut line, “Roque Garcia is helped off with his boots while working for ‘so-and-so’s election campaign.” You can’t buy stuff like that.

Then out of my fog Roque gets my attention with, “You know Fran wouldn’t be so bad.”

In a Pavloffian split second I’m into my total “She’s a corrupt Judge!” rant.

Roque counters with a ‘what’s wrong with a little corruption’ argument. “Look at my brother, right over there.” He nods toward Charlie’s hotdog pushcart on the other side of the Plaza as if to say, ‘it works for us.’

BAD JOHN AND ME
Joe Monahan today writes about Gov. Bill Richardson's recent blasts at the bloggers.
He's talking about recent Richardson speeches that have criticized some unspecified blogs for inaccuracies.
It should be noted that the governor gave these speeches before a new local blog launched. I'm sure that whatever irked the gov about the blogs he'd read was mild compared with Fat Bill and Me.
Fat Bill, which debuted Monday, is the creation of John Coventry, a longtime (20 years? 25 years?) City Hall agitator and frequent, if no longer perennial, City Council candidate. (He told me the other day he's considering a run for mayor next year.)
Richardson is the main target of the blog, which seems to be a natural extension of Coventry's ire-inspiring comments on The New Mexican's Web site in recent months.
It's outrageous. It's obscene. It's probably libelous.
But it's pure Coventry, which means it's kind of fun in a twisted way -- unless you're the target of one of his rants.
Which I have been in the past. About 20 years ago he threatened to punch me in the nose because I called him a "gadfly" in print. I told him I could have chosen another annoying insect.
Then back during the whole Clinton sex scandal, Coventry had a gig with former Municipal Judge Tom Fiorina's old radio show on KTRC (or was it KVSF?) as a roving "reporter." One day during the show, Coventry was at The New Mexican fielding live ambush "interviews" with reporters and editors. He stuck a cell phone in my face and barked, "Steve Terrell, how much perverted sex do you have?"
I could only answer honestly. "Not nearly enough," I told Coventry and his radio audience.
For the record, I'm not the "journeyman reporter" quoted in Fat Bill who warned Coventry about the governor's state police detail. I know most those officers and while they are very serious about their duty, I wouldn't describe any of them as humorless.
My advice to Richardson and anyone else who gets the treatment on Coventry's little corner of cyber space: If working on his blog makes him miss just one City Council meeting, it's all worth it.

Not Jewish tradition, JC, or Israeli. It's rabbinical. Rabbis in Israel command far too much power and respect. They abuse it monsterously and frequently.
Israel is one of many nations in the world today that should be held up as an example of why religion and politics should never be allowed to mix.
In keeping with the fine Israeli tradition of corruption, however, Amar will not himself be indicted (or even investigated further).

Santa Fe sure does "deserves Fran Gallegos"; a corrupt hispanic women Judge doing her usually harm to the a Public Office. With 3% participation in the last municipal election they, the people of Santa Fe, deserve worst than that.
To me it look likes Mayor del Jello isn't running and Coss, another State worker is.
The Stage is set for Patti to run and also that fruitcake Coventry will run as a foul speaking anarchist candidate. Some one has to tell corrupt judges like Gallegos ... "F*** you." to her face; on the podium; in front of the cameras; as a candidate...F*** you corrupt women Hispanic politician. I think it's the only way to revive democracy in Santa Fe. Like Charlie use to say "Wake Up and Smell the Coffee"... but with swearing.
